Award 2014

The Shasta Lily Quilt Guild has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Lauren Gubetta, a Senior at Weed High School. Lauren will attend College of the Siskiyous this next year. She will pursue a career in business marketing design.
The quality of Lauren’s portfolio and the breadth of her activities, artistic and otherwise, especially impressed the scholarship committee. Her senior project, creating a cover for the Weed Visitors Guide, was also a significant factor.
The Shasta Lily Quilt Guild is a diverse group of South Siskiyou County quilters that meets the first Wednesday of every month in Mt. Shasta. In addition to monthly sewing circle meetings, programs of interest to members, educational activities and workshops, the group also participates in Project Linus and donates quilts to local organizations and charities.
